Car Awnings

It attaches to the roof bars or roof rack using mounting brackets. Once fitted, it stays on the vehicle packed in its cover and opens and closes without being removed. Check first that your bars or rack are long enough and can take the weight of the awning.

A 180° awning covers the side and rear of the vehicle. A 270° awning also wraps part of the other side, creating a much larger shaded area, up to 13.5 m² on the 230 cm reinforced aluminium model. It is ideal if you travel in a group or stay several days in one place.

Our 270° Premium awnings are available in left-hand and right-hand versions. Most people mount it on the side where they spend time when parked, which in right-hand-traffic countries is usually the passenger side, away from traffic. Also consider the position of your doors and tailgate.

A freestanding awning, such as the 180° Abako or the reinforced aluminium 270°, is supported by its own arm structure, with no poles needed on the ground in calm weather. If the wind picks up, set the guy lines and pegs to secure it fully.

Yes. We offer waterproof polyester walls for our side awnings, 180° Premium and 270° awnings, plus 2x2.5 m and 2.5x2.5 m floor enclosures with two doors and two windows with mosquito nets. Check the size and side of your Braguscamp awning before choosing.

Whenever possible, pack it away dry. If you have to close it wet, open it again as soon as you arrive so it dries completely and stays free of mould and odours. Clean the canvas with water and mild soap, avoiding harsh products, and check the brackets on the bars from time to time.

Our LED side awnings come in 2x2.5, 2x3, 2.5x2.5 and 2.5x3 m. As a guide, 2 m projection models suit cars and SUVs well, while 2.5 m models make better use of vans and long vehicles. The awning length should match the usable length of your roof bars or roof rack. If in doubt, send us your vehicle model and we will advise you.

Yes, in normal rain the PU-coated Ripstop fabric keeps you under cover. To stop water pooling on the canvas, lower one end slightly so it runs off instead of forming pockets. If the rain is very heavy or comes with strong wind, the safest option is to close the awning until the storm has passed.

In a moderate breeze, set up the guy lines and peg them into the ground so the structure stays taut and stable; on models with legs, secure those too. If the wind blows straight at the awning or the gusts grow stronger, close it: an open awning acts like a sail and can damage the arms or brackets. Never leave it open unattended overnight.

The straight side awnings in the range include built-in LED lighting, as does the 230 cm reinforced aluminium 270° awning. The lighting sits in the awning profile, so your living and cooking area stays well lit after dark without hanging lamps. Check each model's product page to see how the lighting is powered.

Yes, an awning and a rooftop tent combine easily and share the bars or roof rack. Before fitting them, check that the bars are long enough for both, that the awning does not interfere with the ladder or the tent's opening, and that the total weight does not exceed the bars' dynamic load. The result is a complete camp, with a bedroom above and a shaded porch below.

It is an awning that works as a portable shower annex: it creates an enclosed space next to the vehicle where you can change or shower in private after the beach, surfing or a mountain hike. Combined with the Braguscamp 24 L portable shower tank with manual pump, it lets you wash anywhere without relying on campsite facilities.

280GSM Ripstop with PU coating is light, waterproof and highly tear resistant thanks to its reinforced weave. Waterproof ripstop polycotton blends synthetic fibres and cotton, so it breathes better, produces less condensation and gives cooler shade, at the cost of a little more weight. In both cases, make sure the canvas is completely dry before storing it.

Straight side awnings come with aluminium legs that rest on the ground and support the outer edge of the awning. This keeps the canvas taut and the structure stable, especially when there is some wind. Free-standing models, such as the Abako 180° or the reinforced aluminium 270°, are supported by their arms, although it is still wise to tension their guy lines.
