Rooftop Tents

You need approved roof bars whose dynamic load rating, meaning the weight they can carry while driving, exceeds the weight of the tent. Also check the maximum roof load set by your vehicle manufacturer. The tent is fixed to the bars with its own mounting system, on many models using LockNLoad T-rails.

135 cm tents are designed for two adults and are the most compact option. 145 cm tents add extra room for more comfortable sleeping or keeping luggage inside. Our 160 cm family models, such as Forest and Sahara, offer space for two adults and two children.

Yes. If you collect your tent at our warehouse in Villalbilla (Madrid), our team will fit it to your vehicle free of charge and show you how to open, close and look after it. We work by appointment, so email info@braguscamp.com to book a slot.

Yes. Our tents use waterproof fabrics and shells that protect the interior on the road. For winter trips or very hot destinations, made-to-measure Braguscamp thermal insulation improves the temperature inside, and the anti-condensation mesh under the mattress stops moisture building up. Always keep the tent ventilated at night.

Close it dry whenever possible; if you must pack it away wet, open it on arrival so it can air out and stay free of mould. Clean the canvas with water and mild soap. When not in use, the pulley storage kit, rated up to 75 kg, lets you hang it in the garage, and the protective cover keeps it clean.

Yes, we ship across Spain and Europe. Tents travel securely packed on a pallet; on delivery, inspect the packaging in front of the driver and note any damage on the delivery note before signing. If you have questions about shipping to your country, we are happy to advise by email.

It depends on how you travel. Hard-shell aluminium tents open in very little time, as you simply release the latches, and are ideal if you move on every night; the Iglú Pro, for example, deploys in about 20 seconds. Fold-out tents require you to unfold the ladder and tension the canvas, but they usually gain more living space once open. Choose a hard shell for speed, a fold-out for space.

It is the mounting system Braguscamp uses on many of its models. It is based on T-rails and, depending on the model, security locks with a special key. The result is a firmer connection between the tent and the roof bars and quicker fitting, both when you install it for the first time and when you remove it at the end of the season.

Yes, the tent travels closed on the bars and there is no need to remove it between trips. Bear in mind that it increases the overall height of the vehicle, so check it before entering garages, car parks or car washes. It also adds wind resistance, so it is normal to notice slightly higher fuel consumption and more noise at motorway speeds. Check the tightness of the mounts regularly.

Our tents are designed for outdoor use, but it pays to help them. Park so that the narrowest profile or the rear of the tent faces into the wind, tension the straps and poles properly and close the windows on the exposed side. If very strong gusts are forecast, the most sensible option is to close the tent or find a more sheltered spot to spend the night.

Condensation comes from breathing and from the temperature difference with the outside. To reduce it, always leave a window or vent slightly open, even on cold nights. The Braguscamp anti-condensation mat, placed under the mattress, lets air circulate and stops moisture becoming trapped in the base, while the made-to-measure thermal insulation limits the contrast between the canvas and the air inside.

Many models include a built-in 7 cm mattress, so when you arrive you only need to open the tent and add your sleeping bag or bedding. The 160 cm Sahara features a 7 cm memory foam mattress. If you want an even softer night's sleep, you can add the 120x200 cm foam topper, CertiPUR certified, on top of the standard mattress.

It depends on your use, but the most popular are the made-to-measure thermal insulation if you travel outside summer, the anti-condensation mat and the topper for better sleep, and the anti-theft kit with hardened steel nuts if you often park on the street. For periods without use, the Oxford 420D cover and the garage pulley kit make storage much easier.

Yes, it is the most common overlanding set-up. A Braguscamp side awning mounts on the same bars or roof rack and creates a shaded area next to the vehicle for cooking and eating. Before choosing, check that your bars are long enough for both and that the combined weight of tent and awning does not exceed the dynamic load of the bars or the vehicle's maximum roof load.
